Coaching - what is it... why do it... and why with us?

The concept of life coaching is still relatively new. We have had people ask many times exactly what it is and why should they consider it.

The official definition of a professional coach is someone who works with an individual regarding the assessment of their current life situation, who helps them in the process of examining values and motivations, and who guides them  in the setting of measurable goals. Working together assists our clients in developing and defining focused action plans.

We then use behavioral change tools and techniques, such as NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) to assist them in seeing and developing their competencies and removing perceived blocks. This is geared  to help you as our client, achieve valuable and sustainable changes in your professional and personal life.

Our approach is insightful, spiritual, and analytical, all rolled in with a healthy dose of NLP techniques, honest encouragement and "real-life" based experience that we pass on to you in our sessions together.

We feel that we offer a balance of playful, energetic, and tangible practices to help you zero in on your goals as quickly and accurately as possible.

We focus on the positive aspects of who you are, and guide you to find, feel, activate and implement the most positive aspects within yourself and your world.

Who is our client-audience?
Our clients are as varied as those of you who are reading this page. Many of you are within a corporate environment, trying to decide what your next professional move should be.Others are on a spiritual journey, looking for ways to integrate that focus into their career, whether it be as a lawyer, businessperson or stay at home parent. People from many walks and stages of life benefit from working with a life coach. We are NOT doctors or therapists! We don’t dive into your past or analyze you. We ask solution-focused questions, listen closely, and use the techniques we have studied, such as hypnosis and NLP to help you shine your own flashlight into places that have been hidden for whatever time period or reason.

A good friend asked:
“Why work with a life coach? Can you give examples of people's problems or goals you've worked on and had success with?  This would be very helpful for me!”

So many people have “sticking points” in their lives.... feelings or places that are holding them back from living a fuller and happier life. Some examples of this can be living with a phobia.I had one client who would never go walking through a certain area because of the multitude of birds that were there, but were embarrassed to tell anyone. Instead, they habitually walked a good distance out of their way, no matter what the weather. As time went on, it was increasingly noticeable and annoying, so they sought my assistance. We were able to isolate the feelings involved, and plant new images and feelings around this situation to eventually enable this client to walk freely and fearlessly through this area. Some similar phobias that we have worked with successfully range from agoraphobia to claustrophobia, to fear of flying.

A recent client scenario involved a woman with brain injury caused by a car accident. She had been a high-powered corporate executive prior to this injury, and had undergone extensive traditional therapy. She still was deeply affected by acknowledging the need to re-create her identity.We worked together to identify the different emotional components involved, and shared some new and alternative methods for her to access information. As we worked together, she explored using her excellent intuition and sensitivity to replace her prior methods of information gathering and interacting within her world.

Transitions are a key time to consider working with a life coach. Changing careers, setting up a business, moving..any leap of faith into a new situation...or just working within life situations that are not making space for you to feel inner happiness are all times where the support, techniques and encouragement of a life coach can be beneficial. We have worked with many people who feel that they have everything in life, yet they have the feeling that their lives can be more fulfilling. We love working with to discover what techniques we can show and share to help you notice create and expand your enjoyment and fulfillment of your life.
